Puddles and Suni are best friends--best friends who are total opposites. Puddles is only happy when it rains, and Suni is only at her sunshiny best when it's sunny outside. Together they travel the world, exploring historical sites and discovering the weather. This casual game for the iPad incorporates real-time weather feeds, traditional animation and handcrafted illustrations.

When Padded.us contacted me to discuss this project, I was immediately excited because it brought together two of my passions--animated cartoons and playful app design. Beginning with only character concepts at the start of the project, collaboration with the client began immediately. After several rounds of iteration, we created a conceptual vision of the world through which Puddles and Suni travel. Taking that vision I created a diorama inspired art-direction, and 2D animation style that brought a traditional storybook presence to the very modern iPad experience of a connected-weather-data based kids game.
